| Explore the Fairport Lights!
Lighthouses
are part of the fabric of America, shedding light on our past while
pointing the way to the future. Fairport Harbor's two
lighthouses, bravely standing tall against the raging waters of Lake
Erie, are deeply woven elements of our national heritage.
These radiant monuments testify to the courage and determination of
the keepers of the United States Lighthouse Service and United States Coast Guard.
For the last 60 years, the Fairport Harbor
Village Lighthouse & Museum
(right) has offered the public a chance to step back in time and
experience this rich maritime lore. The lighthouse and adjacent museum,
the oldest on the Great Lakes, are open seasonally. Check hours
& location to plan your visit.

Efforts are currently underway to restore the Fairport Harbor
Breakwall Lighthouse (Left). Volunteers and community
activists are working with the United States Coast Guard to take
ownership of the lighthouse with the goal of preserving the facility
for future generations. The Coast Guard will continue to
operate the light as a navigational aide. Keep checking back
to get updates about our preservation
efforts.
Make your lighthouse adventure a full-day
excursion with a visit to other area
attractions. Try your luck at our local fishing
spots, a round of golf, take a dip and catch the sunset at one of
our spacious beaches, or simply relax and sample the wine of our
fine vineyards. There's so much to discover!
